چکیده
Weighted least squares (WLS), weighted mean-and-variance-adjusted (WLSMV), unweighted (ULSMV), maximum likelihood (ML), robust (MLR) and Bayesian estimation methods were compared in mixed item response type data via Monte Carlo simulation. The percentage of polytomous items, distribution categories average factor loading, sample size test length conditions manipulated. ULSMV WLSMV found to be the more accurate under all simulation conditions. All except WLS had acceptable relative bias standard error bias. No method gives results with small sizes low however, can recommended researchers because it appropriate

Multi-Group Confirmatory Factor Analysis for Testing Measurement Invariance in Mixed Item Format Data
This simulation study investigated the empirical Type I error rates of using the maximum likelihood estimation method and Pearson covariance matrix for multi-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) of full and strong measurement invariance hypotheses with mixed item format data that are ordinal in nature. The results indicate that mixed item formats and sample size combinations do not result...
متن کاملEstimation methods for multivariate Tobit confirmatory factor analysis
We propose two methods for estimating multivariate Tobit Confirmatory Factor Analysis (TCFA) with covariates, one from Bayesian and another from likelihood based perspectives. TCFA is particularly useful in analysis of multivariate data with censored information. In contrast with previous developments that utilize Monte Carlo simulations for maximum likelihood estimation, an exact EM-type algor...
متن کاملAn empirical evaluation of alternative methods of estimation for confirmatory factor analysis with ordinal data.
Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is widely used for examining hypothesized relations among ordinal variables (e.g., Likert-type items). A theoretically appropriate method fits the CFA model to polychoric correlations using either weighted least squares (WLS) or robust WLS. Importantly, this approach assumes that a continuous, normal latent process determines each observed variable. The extent...
متن کاملon the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning
the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...
